For the event, the park has been fully decorated for Halloween, with ghosts and ghouls across the park. There are lots of photo opportunities and most of the staff were in fancy dress, they looked brilliant.

There's a fun Halloween Treasure Hunt which culminates at a Trick or Treat Hut where all of those who have successfully solved the code word may be rewarded.

Although there are no extra attractions for the Halloween event, the Spooksville dark ride is perfect for the occasion, a fun 'ghost train' style attraction that's ideal for families.

The park has great mix of rides for all ages, and with the three-colour wristband system, the price you pay will depend on the rides you want to go on. It's simple and the prices are better if you book in advance online.

A visit to Adventure Island for Fright Fantastic is the perfect opportunity for some rides in the dark, with attractions such as roller coaster Rage and thrill ride Axis made even more exciting at night.

For families, a cute feature of the park is the cartoon style characters that appear in multiple attractions. So whether you're riding the Adventureville dark ride, or you explore the Crooked House, look out for them.

A few things stood out during our visit to Adventure Island; all of the staff were really friendly, making sure that everyone was having a great time, the appearance of the park was very well looked after, and it was spotlessly clean. The coronavirus safety measures were being taken seriously, which was good to see.

The only thing we didn't like was the way that the park doesn't confirm its closing times until mid-morning each day, so it could be as early as 6pm, or as late as 9pm, but you won't know for sure until you're already there.

If you get a chance, get down to the Fright Fantastic event at Adventure Island this October half term for some fangtastic fun - it's on until 1st November.
